RICHMOND, Vt. (WCAX) – Police say a woman was shot and one person is in custody after a domestic incident that triggered law enforcement to surround a home in Richmond, at least one with a rifle drawn.
It happened Friday at the Riverview Commons mobile home park off Route 117.
Vt. State Police Capt. Matt Daley told our Calvin Cutler one person is now in custody, facing charges of aggravated domestic assault with a deadly weapon.
A woman who was shot in the arm was taken to the hospital.
We don’t yet know exactly why police were initially summoned to the home, but neighbors said it was a mental health call.
Richmond police are leading the investigation.
Police were clearing the scene shortly before 3 p.m.
