BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – New tenants will soon move into the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing, or IAM building, in Plattsburgh.
Clinton County’s Director of Economic Development Molly Ryan says the school district, CVES-BOCES, is in the process of drafting a lease agreement with the county.
The future of the building was in jeopardy after the Clinton Community College, part of the same campus, announced it was relocating to the SUMY Plattsburgh campus.
With a new partnership, officials say it continues the mission of training the next generation of trade workers in the North Country.
“COVID impacted being able to really get programs off the ground, and CV-TEC programs have been doing very well and have waiting list… So, it seemed appropriate they would move into that building and continue doing what they do best,” said Ryan.
The county legislature will soon vote on a feasibility study that will look at what Clinton Community College’s property can be used for once they relocate to SUNY Plattsburgh.
