MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – The American Red Cross is winding down its latest round of flood relief efforts in Vermont.
For the past few days, the Red Cross was stationed in badly hit areas, with a concentrated effort in Barre, giving out water, cleaning supplies, tarps, tools and masks.
Until Friday, the Red Cross provided mobile help, meeting people where they were.
Now, they say fewer than a dozen people are stopping by the supply sites daily.
“It’s a good sign that it’s slowing down for us. It means that people are starting to recover a little bit,” said Marsha Haines, a logistics manager for the American Red Cross.
