Death of man found in Lake Champlain not believed suspicious, police say

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found floating in Lake Champlain but say they do not believe it is suspicious.

Burlington police got a report shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday of a possible body in the water at Oakledge Park. They say the U.S. Coast Guard recovered the body.

The person has since been identified as Christopher Ramirez, 22, of North Carolina. The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause and manner of death.

Police are investigating but say they do not believe the death is suspicious. Anyone with information is asked to call the police in Burlington at 802-658-2704.
