NORTH HAVERHILL, N.H. (WCAX) – As fair season gets underway in our region, a New Hampshire fair is getting special recognition from the governor.
North Haverhill Fair staff were honored Wednesday morning with a proclamation from Gov. Chris Sununu and the Executive Council to mark the fair’s 80th anniversary.
The gates for the five-day fair on the banks of the Connecticut River are now open.
Like many fairs, North Haverhill has a strong focus on agriculture and the history of farming.
The fair’s David Lackie says more than 300 volunteers make it possible each year for visitors to enjoy.
“Some come for the pulling, some come for the dairy shows. Everyone comes for the fair food — and obviously the midway– but it is a little bit of everything,” Lackie said.
The fair runs through Sunday. Click here for all the details.
