Flooding closes roads across the Northeast Kingdom

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (WCAX) – Heavy rains across Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom closed roads in the area.

Burke:

  • VT-114 at Mount Hunger Road is closed due to bridge washout
  • Reported washouts on Brook Rd. off of VT-114
  • Report that bridge on Mountain Rd. down to one lane
  • Reported washouts on Legacy Lane
  • Reported washouts on Kirby Road

Lyndon:

  • Reports of flooding on Severance Hill at the intersection with Red Village Road is closed for a washout
  • Reports of flooding on Red Village Road is washed out between Perley Lane and Sugar Maple Road
  • Reports of washouts on Norrie Drive and Kingdom Road

Kirby:

  • Report that every road in the town of Kirby is closed

St. Johnsbury:

  • US-5 closed at Memorial Drive closed from John St. to Depot Hill Road due to flooding
  • US-5 closed south of state police barracks due to high water and roadway washouts
  • US-2 closed between Snell Road and east of Severance Hill Road closed due to multiple washouts
  • US-2 east of Pettyco Junction closed due to high water and washouts
  • Reports that Spaulding Road and Rodd Road are closed for washouts

Morgan:

  • VT-111 in Morgan from VT-114 to old McAbe Rd closed due to high water
  • VT-111 closed at Water Street over Sucker Brook due to high water

Brighton:

  • VT-105 between Lakeshore Drive and Ethan Allen Drive closed for flooding and washout
