Route 105 in Island Pond washed out after flooding

ISLAND POND, Vt. (WCAX) – Part of route 105 is now impassable after a washout, cutting a main route from Island Pond to New Hampshire.

Our friends at the Colebrook Chronicle spoke with one Vermont woman who can’t get to the highway from her home anymore after the bridge from her house got washed out.

Her car is still on the other side, and she needs to wade to get to the end of her driveway.

“This is my second year being open and my third flood so far. This is the worst one we’ve had… It could’ve been worse, there were a lot of people that lost their homes,” said Krystie Wood.

Wood owns the nearby farmstand, By The Bay Farms, LLC. She says there does look like there could be some slight damage and mud inside, but believes it should be salvageable.
