BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont lawmakers echo President Biden’s proposal for changes to the Supreme Court.
Earlier this week, the president called on Congress to establish term limits and an enforceable ethics code for the nine justices.
Biden is also pressing lawmakers to ratify a constitutional amendment limiting presidential immunity.
Term limits are something Sen. Peter Welch stands behind.
“We should have term limits, 18 years then you’re taking the politics out of it… You wouldn’t have all that gamesmanship, so I’m very much in favor of term limits,” said Welch, D-Vermont.
