RFK campaign says it has qualified for Vt. ballot

LOS ANGELES (WCAX) – Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he has collected enough signatures to be on Vermont’s ballot come November.

The campaign for the former environmental attorney and well-known anti-vaccination activist on Wednesday said it had collected enough signatures for ballot access in eight more states, including Vermont and Massachusetts. The campaign says it has submitted petitions in 42 states and is officially on the ballot in 13.

Kennedy has been polling at about 5 percent in recent national polls and could play a critical role in tipping what is shaping up to be a tight race between Donald Trump and presumptive Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

Pollsters have said Kennedy’s presence in the race might benefit Harris because he has tended to appeal more to the right than the left.
