CONCORD, N.H. (WCAX) – New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu says character attacks and personal insults are the wrong approach for the GOP to regain the White House and Congress.
The Republican governor spoke out in a New York Times opinion piece on Thursday that the Trump campaign’s current strategy is not the path to victory and that while it may rile up the base, it won’t connect with the all-important independent voters.
“And so my message is — there’s so much to win on. There’s so much to announce when you talk about policy, immigration, inflation, the issues that Americans care about. Just connect with them on that and this thing is extremely winnable. But he’s got to get back to it,” Sununu said.
Sununu, who has frequently criticized the former president in the past, says he still plans to vote for him in November.
