Vt. Fish & Wildlife asks Vermonters to track turkey sightings

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont Fish and Wildlife is asking you to keep track of turkeys.

For 30 years, Vermont Fish and Wildlife has asked citizens to count turkeys between the start of July and the end of August.

The department says that because of the extreme weather over the last month, this year’s numbers will show how turkeys have fared during the flooding.

To participate, keep track of turkeys you see on your commute or walks, keep track of large adults versus younger birds, and enter the numbers on the department website.
