Arrest made in Morristown homicide

MORRISTOWN, Vt. (WCAX) – Morristown Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a suspicious death last month.

Morristown Police say Theodore Farnham, 52, of Waterbury, was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree murder in the death of 76-year-old Richard Cote.

On July 24, police conducted a welfare check on Cote, who was found dead inside his Elmore Street home. Autopsy results determined the manner of death to be a homicide.

It’s unclear how police made the connection, but Farnham is scheduled to appear Friday in Lamoille Superior Court.

Neighbors say Cote owned Richard’s Auto Body & Repair, where he sold used cars.
