2 teens injured in Amish buggy crash involving Lewis County man

AVA, New York (WWNY) – A Constableville man was allegedly involved in an Amish buggy crash in Oneida County on Friday.

State police say 33-year-old Alexander Pflender was driving a pickup truck south on State Route 26 in the town of Ava when it hit the buggy from behind.

Police say a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were thrown from the buggy.

The girl was taken to Wynn Hospital in Utica where she was treated and released. The boy was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with serious injuries. Their names have not been released.

No injuries were reported for Pflender.

Troopers say their investigation is ongoing.
