Child credit checks in the mail for some NY families

ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) – Checks are on the way to some New York parents as a part of the Empire State Child Credit program.

Supplemental payment checks of up to $330 per child will hit mailboxes this week for more than 1 million families.

It’s part of a program issuing $350 million in direct financial assistance to low- and moderate-income families.

There’s no need to apply for the program. The money automatically goes to New York taxpayers who received an Empire State Child Credit of at least $100 on their 2023 state tax returns.
