ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) – Let our children be children– that’s the message from New York Gov. Kathy Hochul regarding a proposed classroom cellphone ban.
“Let them learn in a classroom, let our teachers be able to have the attention that they’ve been denied for a long time with children that are distracted and let the parents get their children back,” said Hochul, D-New York.
The governor held a roundtable discussion with educators and stakeholders in the Hudson Valley on Monday. It’s part of a larger statewide effort to address smartphone use in schools with a policy proposal Hochul plans to unveil later this year.
