BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – New protections for the northern border could be taking off soon.
New Hampshire Senator Maggie Hassan introduced the Cross-Border Aerial Law Enforcement Operations Act.
The act would authorize the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to use law enforcement aircrafts to patrol the U.S. and Canadian sides of the northern border with border patrol on board.
A similar program is underway where U.S. and Canadian law enforcement collaborate on waterways along the border.
