MORRISTOWN, Vt. (WCAX) – Police say the body of a missing teen swimmer was found in the Lamoille River on Thursday morning, and Thursday afternoon they released his name.
Morristown police say Benjamin Clapp, 14, of Morristown, was reported missing in the river on Wednesday shortly before 6 p.m.
Crews searched the river for the teen Wednesday night below the B Street Power Dam until about 8:50 p.m. and resumed the search Thursday morning.
Investigators say Thursday at about 9:30 a.m., crews recovered Clapp’s body. They say it appears to be an accidental death. His body will be sent to the medical examiner for an autopsy.
