$1.4M headed to Plattsburgh International Airport for fire safety equipment

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – More federal funding is headed to the Plattsburgh International Airport.

Senator Chuck Schumer says more than $1.4 million will head to the Lake City’s airport to help buy aircraft rescue and fire safety equipment.

“It certainly will go a long way to enhance the safety and operations at our airport. And any time we can be sure that the people that work at our airport and the people that travel to our airport are safe, is a big win,” said Molly Ryan, Clinton County’s director of economic development.

Other grant recipients include the Adirondack Regional Airport, which is getting more than $100,000 to reconstruct its hanger.
