Sen. Welch touts successes of the Inflation Reduction Act

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont senator is touting two years of benefits to the Green Mountain State on the anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act.

Now Senator Peter Welch is reflecting on how the act has helped Vermont so far in everything from jobs to climate to healthcare.

Welch highlights $44 million spent on rural transportation in the state. He also says almost 700,000 homes have been weatherized, and more than 100,000 heat pumps installed.

When it comes to medical expenses, Welch says over 163,000 Medicare beneficiaries in the state will save money on prescription drugs.
