WINOOSKI, Vt. (WCAX) – Although the construction in Winooski has caused some problems for businesses in the city, it’s created more foot traffic for the Farmers Market.
Vendors say they have seen more people visit their tables, they think the construction has caused more people to walk downtown rather than drive.
The Winooski Farmers Market is in the middle of their season, and officials say, it is starting to grow.
The foot traffic has increased from last year – where it was 600 to 800 people visiting – now up to 1000 every Sunday.
The market has gone up from 20 vendors, to about 30, officials are thankful the community supports the market in this way.
“It’s really great, I am really thankful for all of the vendors I get to meet. All the customers who come out and support these local vendors. It feels really nice to be able to see a difference,” Sarah Brunkhorst with the Winooski Farmers Market said.
The market will continue until October.
