President approves disaster declaration for NH counties

CONCORD, N.H. (WCAX) – The president has approved New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu’s request for a major disaster declaration after severe storms wreaked havoc on the state in July.

The declaration includes Coos and Grafton counties.

A preliminary damage assessment from FEMA found the statewide cost for response efforts came in over $5.2 million.

The declaration will allow Coos and Grafton counties to receive federal funding to help them rebuild.
