PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – Plattsburgh will soon be looking again for another top cop.
After less than a year in the position, Mayor Chris Rosenquest says Chief Peter Mitchell submitted his retirement paperwork Thursday.
Mitchell is the longest-standing member of the Plattsburgh Police and this month marked 25 years of service.
His last day comes in two weeks. The department will be led by the ranking officer until a new hire is completed. The last search took at least three years.
