Emergency preparedness training offered for New Yorkers

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Empire staters can be prepared for the worst thanks to a new program.

The Citizen Preparedness training program is put on by the state division of Homeland Security, the National Guard, and the Red Cross.

More than 400,000 New Yorkers have completed the training program.

Components of emergency preparedness include creating a family plan and preparing an emergency kit.
