WEST PAWLET, Vt. (WCAX) – The owner of a controversial paramilitary camp in West Pawlet has been arrested again.
Police say Daniel Banyai, 51, violated his conditions for a contempt of court case from April.
Investigators say he was spotted in New York state in August, which violates his conditions of release. Per those conditions, he must remain in the state of Vermont.
Banyai was cited to appear in court at a later date.
Banyai owns Slate Ridge, a former paramilitary training site. He has been wrangling with the town for years over unpermitted structures at the site.
