Adirondack visitor spending up in 2023

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (WCAX) – New data shows spending by visitors in the Adirondack region rose last year.

A state report found visitor spending was up by 6.6% across the region.

The Adirondacks took in a little more than $2 billion, most of it coming from lodging followed by spending on food and drink.

Broken down by county, Essex County saw the biggest rise in visitor spending with an 11.2% jump over 2022. Franklin County saw a 7.2% increase.
