Burlington teen charged in Main Street assault

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Burlington teen has pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault in an attack downtown.

Last month, we showed you video of a group assault outside Mr. Mike’s Pizza on Main Street.

Court documents say the group attacked a 43-year-old man, punching and kicking his head after he allegedly used racial slurs.

An investigation led police to name Antonio Hammond, 18, as a primary suspect.

Hammond was arrested early Friday morning. He pleaded not guilty in court and was ordered held without bail.

He’s due back in court on Oct. 3.
