Pets with Potential: Sarah, Dorothy and Grizzly

ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – This week’s Pets with Potential are two dogs and a cat waiting at Franklin County Animal Rescue in St. Albans for their forever homes.

Sarah is a 9-month-old shepherd-weimaraner mix who shelter staffers describe as observant and eager to explore. They say she’ll do best in an active home with no cats, though she does get along well with other dogs.

Dorothy is a 7-year-old kitty who staffers say just wants to be loved. She loves attention but will have to get to know you first to gain some confidence. But don’t let that fool you, she’s still a chatty Cathy who loves to snuggle her favorite human.

We first introduced you to Grizzly in July and he’s still looking for his forever home. Staffers call the 6-year-old wirehaired pointing griffon a smart boy who loves to stay busy. He has some anxiety and benefits from a consistent schedule. Staffers say he’s made good progress in his time at the shelter and may benefit from the presence of another dog, but not kids or cats.

Contact Franklin County Animal Rescue for more information on these animals or any of the other pets there awaiting adoption.

Franklin County Animal Rescue also has an exciting event coming up to celebrate 60 years in business. Paws in the Park is next Thursday at Taylor Park in St. Albans. It will feature a dj, cash bar, silent auction, awards and giveaways, and much more. The celebration kicks off at 4:30 p.m. and wraps up at 7:30 p.m. Dogs on leashes are welcome and encouraged to wear creative black tie attire.
