PLAINFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) – U.S. Route 2 in Plainfield will close to all traffic starting Monday to allow for slope repairs.
The closure west of Route 214 starts Monday at 8 a.m.
The road will be closed for two weeks with detour signs in place.
The Vermont Agency of Transportation says crews will be working to stabilize a slope. They say that the failing slope is at the bend of the Winooski River.
The project is scheduled to be completed by October.
