Montpelier man steals from Berlin store after previously applying for a job

BERLIN, Vt. (WCAX) – Police in Berlin say they caught a man stealing from a store after he had previously applied for a job there.

Officers were called to Thomas Hometown Sales & service on Route 302 after getting reports of a theft.

They say they found that 33-year-old Brandon Barbo of Montpelier was the one who stole merchandise and that he had just filled out a job application there.

Carbo was located by Montpelier police, who subsequently turned over the stolen items. He has been issued a citation to appear in Washington County Court on October 31.
