Richmond store vandalized and employees threatened, police say

RICHMOND, Vt. (WCAX) – After a series of incidents targeting a Richmond business, police say they have no tolerance for vandalism of any kind.

Police say the ReFind Boutique was vandalized twice in 24 hours over the weekend.

They say the suspect, described as a white man driving a white pickup truck, wrote vulgar words and graffiti on the building, destroyed plants and tore up a Ukrainian flag.

Investigators say he threatened employees to not hang the flag back up, saying he would return and break the windows if they did.

Hinesburg-Richmond Police Chief Anthony Cambridge calls incidents like this unusual and unacceptable.

“I think every community has its differences, but destroying other people’s property is unacceptable. I was surprised and I think most of the community they were pretty surprised, as well,” Cambridge said.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Hinesburg-Richmond police at 802-482-3397.
