BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (WCAX) – The town of Brattleboro temporarily closed a park in an effort to get an invasive plant under control.
The park at 250 Birge Street closed at 8 a.m. Monday and will be off limits for 24 hours.
The town closed the park so foresters can spray to control Japanese knotweed. The invasive plant can destroy riverbanks and degrade water quality.
The park will reopen on Tuesday once the spray has been applied and dried.
