Police identify man injured in Rutland shooting

RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) – Police have released the name of a man left in critical condition after a shooting in Rutland last week.

Investigators say he is Joseph Walsh, 20, of Rutland. They say Walsh is hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

City police say just before noon on Friday they were called to a report of a shooting on Library Avenue. That’s where officers found Walsh, who had been shot in the chest.

Police say they believe this was an isolated incident with no larger threat to the community. They did not say whether they have any suspects in the case.
