WASHINGTON (WCAX) – Vermont’s congressional delegation is calling on FEMA to address internal operations that they say are harming the agency’s ability to respond effectively to disasters.
They say high staff turnover and other inconsistencies are slowing down Vermont’s flood recovery process, with many towns and individuals still waiting on reimbursements. In the letter earlier this month to FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell, they also called on the agency to pass more responsibilities to local officials in impacted communities.
They cited Ludlow and Lyndon as examples of communities struggling due to these issues.
