BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – New business education opportunities are coming to UVM students.
A new co-op program within the undergraduate Grossman School of Business will launch in 2025.
It’s thanks to a $15 million gift from the Grossman Family Foundation.
The yearlong program will have students work full-time with a partner company for one semester, supplemented with summer courses for an on-time graduation.
The goal is to give students a competitive advantage when applying for jobs and to attract more applicants to UVM.
“It adds another layer of experiential learning that we have at this school. We’ve spent the last 12 years building all these layers of experiential learning, and this is, sort of, the cherry on the top of all that,” said Sanjay Sharma, the dean of the Grossman School of Business.
UVM hired a director for the program who will work with faculty over the next year to design the curriculum and develop partnerships with companies locally and beyond.
The program will start with about 25 students and grow to up to 150 within five years.
