MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – Montpelier officials are sounding the alarm on a scammer attempting to collect fraudulent flood recovery project fees.
They say someone is impersonating Community Development Director Michael Miller, trying to collect permit fees from residents via email and requesting the recipient pay an attached invoice.
The city says they would never request any form of payment via email
Those who may have been impacted are urged to contact their bank immediately.
