Stolen car report lands Burlington man behind bars

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – South Burlington police say just before 8am Saturday morning they received a complaint of a stolen black Volkswagen Atlas. Police later found the car near the Fletcher Free Library and surveillance video helped officers find 38-year-old Jeffrey Leduc of Burlington near the South Winooski Ave and Buelle Street intersection; he tried to run away but police were able to take him into custody.

Leduc has multiple warrants out for his arrest.

He has over 150 police run-ins and, since September 2022, has been linked to 11 stolen car incidents.

He is now at Northwest Correctional Facility.

Leduc’s criminal record includes: * 28 Failures to Appear at a Court Proceeding * 3 Escape Charges * 9 Violation of Court Order Charges with 1 Conviction * 21 Felony Charges with 10 Convictions * 43 Misdemeanor Charges with 24 Convictions * 6 Assaultive Crime Charges with 3 Convictions
