PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – The first phase of the Clinton County Business Innovation Gateway is complete.
That includes newly paved roads at the former airport and a new street name, Douglas Boulevard, honoring North Country Chamber of Commerce President Garry Douglas.
The whole project is expected to cost $6 million in total, with $5 million coming from state and federal grants.
It will bring in businesses and housing, including an expansion of Champlain Valley Educational Services’ technology campus.
“The potential here is immense. What we are creating here today, all of us here today, will open doors for new industries, encourage entrepreneurship and provide new opportunities for our workforce,” said Mark Henry, the chair of the Clinton County Legislature.
The chamber says multiple businesses from Quebec are looking to move onto the property but did not say which ones.
