ENOSBURGH, Vt. (WCAX) – We are learning new details about the brutal murder of a Vermont senior.
The body of Roberta Martin, 82, was found nearly a mile from her Enosburgh home in July.
Prosecutors say she was sexually assaulted and burned.
Martin’s neighbor, Darren Martell, 23, faces a charge of aggravated murder which carries a life sentence without parole.
Investigators found Martell’s DNA on Martin’s body, linking him to the crime.
Now, we’ve learned that according to the medical examiner, Martin died of “homicidal violence” including blunt trauma to the head.
