BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Vermont International Film Festival (VTIFF) kicked off it’s 39th annual screening Friday.
The festival says movies created here in Vermont and in countries around the world are set for viewing at Main Street landing in Burlington.
VTIFF’s Executive director Steve MacQueen said he’s excited for movie buffs to see the global lineup.
“Well I wanted people to be entertained and I want them to learn something,” MacQueen, said. “Ideally, both in a maybe not even realizing they’ve learned something. I think understanding and seeing films from around the world helps us develop empathy for other cultures, other people, and I think that’s a really important thing.”
Tickets are $12 for general admission and $6 for students. The festival runs through October 27th.
