ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. (WCAX) – After high winds ruined the Stowe Foliage Arts Festival earlier this month, some artists who had their creations blown away have shifted their focus to another crafty event.
The gusts brought the big top tent at the arts festival down, destroying thousands of dollars’ worth of art. Now after the disaster at the festival, the Champlain Valley Craft Show and Antique Expo returned, featuring over one hundred fifty artists, including some that went to the Stowe festival that are still working to recover their losses. Artists like Vermont’s Steel Lady say the show helped her catch up on sales.
“I was able to a few days before setting up, get invited into the show. Which is amazing because it basically is doing the Stowe show. I recouped all of the income that I would have made in Stowe. This one is super busy, a lot of people are buying stuff,” said Rebecca Nase Chomy with Twisted Perception Metal Works Organizers say they can’t wait to see their artists again next year.
