WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) – An all-hands-on-deck response for a Williston fire that wrecked a garage and damaged a neighboring home.
On Sunday night, the Williston Fire Department got a call about a garage fire at 91 Earnhardt Drive.
With inadequate fire hydrants, fire officials called for help.
High heat and limited water sparked concern for a neighboring home, but with help from 30 mutual aid firefighters, officials say they were able to get the incident under control in 30 minutes.
Hinesburg, Essex Junction, Essex Town, Underhill-Jericho, and South Burlington all stepped up to help.
The building is a total loss and the nearby home is looking at $100,000 worth of damage.
The fire was deemed accidental but is under investigation.
