WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. (WCAX) – A Massachusetts man facing multiple charges after ramming a stolen car into a police cruiser in Hartford.
Hartford police say at around 7:30 this morning they got a call that a stolen vehicle was found near the Holiday Inn Express in White River Junction.
Officers say when they got there they found there were multiple people inside, and the man driving, identified as 25-year-old Tyron Harris of Holyoke Massachusetts, then rammed the stolen car into a police cruiser nearly striking two officers and damaging both vehicles.
Police say he then drove the car into the woods and fled on foot, but he was found and arrested using a police K-9.
Police then searched the vehicle and found 8.5 ounces of cocaine, and several handguns.
Harris is due in Vermont Superior Court Wednesday, answering to a number of charges including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, cocaine trafficking, leaving the scene of an accident, and resisting arrest.
