BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) – A teen suspect connected to a fatal shooting at a Waterbury trailer park appeared in court Wednesday to face charges.
Samuel Niyonsenga, 18, of Springfield, Mass., pleaded not guilty to aiding in the commission of second-degree murder. Police say he traveled to and from the Kneeland Flats trailer park with Fabrice Rumama, 20, also of Springfield, and was also carrying a gun as part of a drug-related plan. Police say Rumama shot and killed Shawn Spiker, 34, of Croydon, New Hampshire, and that Michael S. Perry, 57, of Waterbury was wounded.
Vermont State Police arrested Niyonsenga Tuesday. He is being held without bail and is expected back in front of a judge Thursday.
