Burlington apartment building fire displaces residents

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Multiple Burlington residents are displaced after a fire broke out in an apartment building.

Just after 11:30 Tuesday night, Burlington Fire Department responded to a building on Main Street.

Firefighters saw heavy flames on the porch roof spreading to the upper floors and roof.

They searched the building but found no one.

The three-alarm fire brought in off-duty Burlington firefighters as well as crews from South Burlington, Colchester, Winooski, and the Vermont Air National Guard.

The building housed 8 apartments and all residents were displaced from fire and water damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
