New York early voting, last day to register is Saturday

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – Early voting starts in the Empire State on Saturday.

In Clinton County, in-person voters can only vote early at the Government Center in Plattsburgh from 9 to 5.

County Board of Election officials say they’ve already received roughly 4,000 requests for absentee ballots, with around 3,000 already returned.

Saturday is also the last day to register to vote in New York. People looking to vote who are not registered after Saturday will need to vote by affidavit.

county officials are asking you to get out to vote and be patient with wait times at the polls.

“There are a lot of people that are still registering today. A lot of people are planning to show up tomorrow for the first day of early voting. So, we are telling people if they do want to come tomorrow, just be patient because it could be really busy — which we hope for,” said Clinton County Democratic Commissioner Mary Dyer.

Sample ballots and other information are available on the County’s election website.
