WARDSBORO, Vt. (WCAX) – Big crowds in Wardsboro Saturday afternoon, to celebrate the state vegetable.
The 23rd annual Gilfeather Turnip Festival and Growing Contest – taking place at multiple locations throughout the town.
In addition to taste testing all the turnip culinary creations and shopping for turnip themed gifts, there was a competition for largest grown from seed, and the win went to David Wright of Middletown Springs, who grew at 33 pound turnip.
That is a delicious award and sure to fill a lot of bellies.
