Police investigate after two people found dead in Newfane

NEWFANE, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont State Police are investigating after two people were found dead Friday at a home in Newfane.

State police say they received a call just after 5:00 p.m. on Friday from relatives who reported finding two family members dead at the home on South Wardsboro Road.

Initial investigation revealed this was an isolated incident, involving two people who knew each other.

Everyone involved is accounted for, however no one is in custody, according to police.

Authorities say there is no threat to the public. Currently, the scene is being processed for evidence. The two individuals will be taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for autopsies.

Police have not released their names.
