RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) – Spooky and scary scenes dotted downtown Rutland Saturday night with their annual Halloween parade.
The 63rd edition of the parade brought both local residents and those traveling from around out Saturday evening.
Thousands of onlookers watch festive floats and creative costumes march into and around the city’s downtown.
Vermonters before the parade said keeping the annual tradition going is important for the Marble City.
“We just love being part of the downtown Rutland community and being involved in the parade our kids really look forward to it every single year we love practicing the dance and being out and enjoying the fun with everybody,” Sheila McCutchon, Starlight Dance Academy Owner said.
“What I’m looking forward to is putting smile on people’s faces and I’ve been doing it for nine year,” Jesse Bessette of Bennington said.
Over 80 floats, the most in the past five years, and 15-hundred marchers and dancers parade on the streets Saturday.
