Watch out for ‘zombie’ trees

October 30, 2024 Staff Uncategorized

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – It’s the spookiest time of year and USDA officials want homeowners to be on the lookout for zombie trees.

The trees in your yard may look alive but are actually dead or dying inside. Officials say the weak limbs or the entire tree are at risk of coming down.

Signs of zombie trees include dying branches, leaf discoloration, or fungus growing out of a tree.
