Voters approve Hartford road repair bond

HARTFORD, Vt. (WCAX) – Voters in Hartford have approved a multimillion-dollar road investment just outside downtown White River Junction.

The money will be used to repair a section of Fairview Terrace where it meets Gates Street, which has triggered serious concerns about landslides in recent years.

It is currently closed to traffic.

The $4.1 million bond will pay for needed repairs to reopen the road in one direction heading into downtown White River Junction.

It passed on a count of 3,314 to 2,176.

The average taxpayer on a $250,000 home would likely see an increase of about $60 for the life of the loan.
